Billy, As an aside to this thread, and not trying to advertise a product, you may want to study Praxis' Replication software. If I am not mistaken Informix is buying this product to enhance their replication. As we know Informix replication was/is in need of help. I'm getting some first-hand experience with Praxis, and can say replication is quite complicated. :-) If a sole-source solution comes from a data-base vendor I'd be surprised if it's any good--unless of course they bought an add-on product to enhance their engine. This includes all the engines out there worth mentioning. As to how they do it, well, quite simply be prepared to buy more disks. Praxis uses a meta-database to store who-gets-what-replicated, along with a nice GUI interface. It also generates the sp/triggers. I'd say go look at praxis.com but their homepage is incomplete. There are a couple of other products out there, but apathy is starting to creep in, and yawn, ... Maybe an Informix person could shed more light on what they're doing... :-) -- Tim Schaefer \\\\|// tschaefe@mindspring.com (6 6) ------------------------oOOo---( )---o00o--------- Liberty: http://www.lp.org Informix: http://www.iiug.org --------------------------------------------------
