I currently use ERWin (3.5.2 on Informix 7.30) to forward engineer our data
model into a physical database, but I have used ERWin (version not known,
Informix 7.24) in the past to do reverse engineering from an SQL file to
ERwin Informix model and I never had this problem. Just to check I tried
reverse engineering our current schema (created using dbschema) into ERWin
and it creates SMALLINTs as SMALLINT. I would assume you may be setting
some radio button/checkbox wrong (dont you hate these GUIsh things first
time you have to do something new?), or something along those lines.

Subject: Problems comparing/reverse engineering Informix databases with
ERwin
I'm working with an Informix 7.30 database and ERwin 3.5.2.
I did a successful reverse engineering of my entire database. After that I
decided to compare the generated model and my database for verification. I
have found several extrange differences.
For example, ERwin interprets the smallint datatype as a text....
Is there any known problem around this combination?
Any help is welcome!
