How do I switch between instances in Informix? I'd like to look at things in one instance, then be able to switch and use another instance. How do I do this? Norm

The former can be accomplished using CONNECT TO and SET CONNECTION. The latter by changing INFORMIXSERVER between sessions. You can see an example of using multiple connections in my dostats and dbcopy utilities (in the package utils2_ak available for download from the IIUG Software Repository). Art S. Kagel
