FIrst I installed and used "onprobe"/"oncockpit", very nice, we had
lots of alerts going to tell us
important things like dbspace full, logs full, informix down... etc
Then came informix IDS 7.30. They took those binaries away.
I played with IECC, just starting to get it going, and informix says
"that is going away" try
on web.
I installed OnWeb, easy and nice to setup... but no DAMN ALERTS.
Can someone tell me how to setup alerts and thresholds with OnWeb to let
me know when
dbspaces get full, logs are full, informix went offline..... ????
Doesn't anyone care about these things? I dont need a web way to
administer informix, I need
tools for event management. Informix is just forcing us to buy
compuware's ecotools or bmc
patrol..
Does anyone care to share how they handle events from informix,.. do you
rely on the "alarm.sh"
program only ?

No. I have an additional monitor that uses DBD::Informix. The combination
of the two have been successful in trapping and notifying use of every
error:
