Such products (a) Deny you all the benefits of OnLine and all its performance, security, fault tolerance etc etc etc features; (b) Deny you access to the some of the emerging, industry-accepted, not-necessarily-Informix client-server solutions; (c) Prove that the supplier has its commercial head stuck somewhere in the darker regions of its anal sphincter I can think of at least one undeservedly-successful UK supplier(s) which will, through its commitment to the Stone Age, deny you access to all of these, yet pretend to be Informix-compliant. The simplest, cheapest (to you) test, is to get them to do a full-blown demo with OnLine as the engine. akent@cix.compulink.co.uk (Andy Kent) -------------------------------------
