I didn't say you *couldn't* have zero page cleaners, just that you get 1 unless you configure otherwise. I'm not in a position to check at the mo, but as I understand it tbundo only kicks in if a rollback happens. In which case, I suppose you could get the number of tbinit processes down to one if you configured zero page cleaners. However, it's usually inefficient to do so (and thereby have the master daemon looking after the page cleaner activity), especially if there's a chance that you could run out of clean data buffers and have a huge reliance on Foreground Writes. I'm not sure how much fuzzy flushing the master daemon would actually do in such circumstances though, but suffice to say that CLEANERS=0 is a pretty bad idea. akent@cix.compulink.co.uk (Andy Kent) -------------------------------------
