Shared Memory Initialization - Urgent

We are migrating from DEC Unix 3.2c on server DEC 4000 to DEC Unix 4.0e on server DEC ALPHA 4100. We are using Informix 7.2 at present in our existing m/c. We installed 7.2 in the new machine with 4.0e and made all the entries in ONCONFIG . When we start Online , we are getting shared memory initialization failure with a message in the log file "Base address Illegal" and "Uses ______ address, needs ______ address". When we change the SHMBASE to the address which it says as "needs" , the same error appears. We have used same address as mentioned in the release notes for 7.2 i.e. 0x200000000. Informix server manual tells you that if you put the base address as 0, then kernel itself will select the Shared memory base address though not advisable. We have tried that also, but without any success. Can anybody help? Sampath
Check that you have the following setting in your kernel: ipc: ssm-threshold=0 If not, then set ssm-threshold to zero, rebuild the kernel and reboot. Hopefully that will fix the problem! Mike.
