set isolation
we get error msg frequently
Could not position within a table (informix.ima)
ISAM error number -107.
ISAM error: record is locked.when doing select statement(especially lots of user using)
and it is solved by adding code "set isolation to dirty read" before every
select statement.
Is there any other way inspite of modifying 4gl program one by one?

Hi Hylee
Rather than altering the isolation mode of your applications I would
recommend that you use : -
set lock mode to wait;
This statement has the advantage of not having to put it before every select
as the mode is maintained within each of the applications. Also it will
ensure that you are not reading dirty data from your database during other
dml operations.

We experienced the same problem when upgrading from SE to Online. If changing
ISOLATION LEVEL TO DIRTY READ is the simpliest way, turning LOCK MODE TO ROW
instead of PAGE can help too.
