Hi all, They where some problems with early IDS on Linux, if I remember correctly up to 7.3 UC7, that forced us to disable shadowed passwords (if not complete PAM, I don't remember, but PAM is part of Solaris, so it would be strange...). I was wondering if this is still the case, or we can install current version of IDS 2000 with PAM and shadowed passwords active. Someone said it was fixed, but I haven't checked it out myself. Already bought 7.30 twice (once for RH5.2 and once for RH6.0) to find out that PAM wasn't supported. I'm unwilling to shell out two bills to repeat that mistake again (I've no reason to believe that the porting engineer is *now* aware of the existance of PAM in Red Hat). Would be happy to be proven wrong, though! -- Forte International, P.O.
