Could anyone tell me whether Informix-Star does: - two phase commit - offers Xwindow GUI - deadlock detection on distributed database - support the popular networkds (TCP/IP, DECNet, SNA, etc. please specify) - support both horizontal and vertical data fragmentation - RULES and/or TRIGGERS - data and transaction transparency Are there any special features that make Informix-Star stands out among the other RDBMS vendors like Sybase, Ingres, etc. FYI, we are also looking at Sybase, Ingres, Interbase, Unify and Oracle. Oracle RDBMS is out as the current version does not support 2 phase commit. Any info. on Informix and any of the above mentioned DB is appreciated. Thank you. Peter Kho (Internet: kho@mpr.ca)
