Please reply to that address. WH] Hi, I am in the process of developing an editor especially suited for writing code in informix 4GL. I would appreciate if you could give me the following information: File extensions of the 4GL files. Ex: all C code files have a .c extn. Templates for the various constructs in Informix 4GL. Ex: In C the constructs are repeat-until, if-then-else etc. I would like to know which style is most prevalent in writing these constructs. Ex: I C there are two styles: if ( ) { } else { } or if () { } else { } Event driven Sections, if any in the code. For ex: in Unify's Accell there are sections like "BEFORE FORM", "AFTER FORM" etc. How do you write a function. How does on comment a block. Ex: in C one uses /* */ Common repetitive editing frustrations which can be solved with a specialized editor. The idea is to come up with an editor which is especially tailored towards developing code in Informix 4GL. That would let a programmer develop code in a more consistent style with lesser effort. If you want you may post it on the mailing list, requesting them to reply directly to me. Thanks a lot.
