Where did your guru get his/her numbers? We have the following config
for the same drives you're using. Our db is 3.5G.
# Archive Tape Device
TAPEDEV /dev/rmt/2hc # Archive tape device pathname
TAPEBLK 16 # Archive tape block size (Kbytes)
TAPESIZE 4000000 # Max amount of data to put on tape (Kbytes)
# Logical Log Backup Tape Device
LTAPEDEV /dev/rmt/1hc # Logical log tape device pathname
LTAPEBLK 16 # Logical log tape block size (Kbytes)
LTAPESIZE 4000000 # Max amount of data to put on log tape (Kbytes)

We have the following two lines user informix's crontab file.
# Level 0 archive of On-Line Engine
00 1 * * 2-6 TBCONFIG=tbconfig.cars; INFORMIXDIR=/usr/informix; export TBCONFIG
INFORMIXDIR; echo '\\n0' | /usr/informix/bin/tbtape -s | head -100 > /tmp/archiv
e.log 2>&1 ; mailx -s "OLE Archive" daniel cdiemert < /tmp/archive.log
Rollover would be lovely.

Don't know. Can such be addressed as one device?
