KAIO works well on AIX, last time I worked on AIX was using 4.3.x, my only
experience of KAIO, HP and Informix was a "difference of opinion" between
HPUX and IDS (not the companies, the software!) vwhich meant it didn't work
so it had to be turned off.
I'd say use it
