Point in time recovery
Posted in 1997
Folks --
We're running 7.22 on AIX 4.1.5. We use onbar for backups,
talking to IBM's ADSM storage manager.
We've got a development system where several different groups
of users each have their own databases. We recently had an instance
where one of the groups completely scrogged their database via
entering a really, really bad series of SQL commands. As far as
we've been told by support, we're out of luck in terms of using
our backups to recover just the single database (which has its own
dbspaces), as onbar point in time recovery only works on a
entire instance, not on particular dbspaces.
Any suggestions? Is there anyone who has got a good work-around?
We're considering nightly dbexports, but with a lot of databases,
that's pretty time intensive.
TIA.
