You can use the escape character also (\\), i.e: CONSTRUCT BY NAME alfa ON table_name.* LET query1="SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE alfa AND ", "column_name=","\\"","*","\\"" note that you have to use the escape character twice. or you can use its ASCII value : ASCII(42) LET query1="SELECT * FROM table_name WHERE alfa AND ", "column_name=","\\"",ASCII(42),"\\"" --- "Richard E.
