} Hello All,
}
} I need help with Informix. I've called and talked to them, but
} since we don't have OpenLine support, Informix said that the
} following isn't their problem. To me, it sounds like a bug, I'm
} hoping that someone out here could help me (please email me if
} you can).
}
} Thank you in advance!
}
} -------------------------------
}
} Platform: SCO Unix 3.2.4.2
}
} Informix Software:
} I-SQL/v 6.01.UD1
} ESQL/v 7.10.UC1
} I-SE/v 7.10.UC1
} I-4GL/v 6.01.UD1
}
} Recently, I've installed these new versions of Informix, and
} I am having the following errors:
}
} ***********************************
} cperf (or cace) does the following (esql DOES work):
}
} # cperf stub.ec -o sperform
} stub.c
} undefined first referenced
} symbol in file
} nap /usr/lib/libp/libprot.a
} ld fatal: Symbol referencing errors. No output written to sperform
}
}
}
} Also, I tried to install the esql demo (to see if theirs worked),
} and I got this message:
}
}
} ***********************************
} Esql Demo setup does the following:
}
} # esqldemo7
}
} INFORMIX Embedded SQL/C Demonstration Database Installation Script
} This script will create and populate a database named: stores7 .
} If a database of that name exists, the script will drop and replace it.
}
} If you do not own or have DBA privilege for an existing database stores7,
} the script will try to drop it and fail. In that event, run the script
} again specifying a different database name.
}
}
} To continue, press return
}
} Creating stores7 database ...
}
} Based on the server information in sqlhosts, the database engine
} does not support the data types varchar, text and byte, so the
} table "catalog" has not been installed.
} Unknown error message 16255.
}
} Now installing indexes on loaded tables...
}
}
} The creation of the demonstration database is now complete. The remainder
} of this script copies the examples into your current directory.
} Press "Y" to continue, or "N" to abort.
}
}
}
}
} Also, I tried to install the 4gl demo and I got a similar message:
}
} ***********************************
} 4GL Demo setup does the following:
}
} # i4gldemo
}
} Creating stores database ....
}
}
} Creating tables in database ...
}
}
} Populating tables with rows ...
}
} Unknown error message 16255.
}
} Database setup incomplete.
}
}
}
} Looking through the demo scripts, I found that the 'dbload'
} command is what gave the unknown error message above.
}
}
}
} Again....help and thanks!
