yes, you can specify a time limit on the wait, but only under online. you don't have the option under se. -joe- (huddles@hasting.com) ---------- From: ilist To: informix-list Subject: SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT ? Date: Thursday, July 13, 1995 11:40AM In a recent mail exchange with another Informix programmer, he mentioned that it was possible to use "SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT 60" and have the system time out after the table was unavailable for 60 seconds. I've been digging through the documentation and can find nothing to support his claim. If true it would be a godsend for handling potential permanent lockups. Can anyone confirm or deny that a wait period can be specified as a parameter to SET LOCK MODE TO WAIT and if so, what is the default?
