isql vs. dbaccess

A couple people I work with swear that dbaccess has given different
results from isql when given the same query.
I've never heard of this and believe if it were the case it would have
to be a bug. Apparently they believe isql was returning the correct
results as they advise against using dbaccess.
Has anyone ever heard of this? Was there a bug in dbaccess in an older
version of Informix?

If there was a difference, it would indeed be a bug.
I don't recall hearing of such a problem, but that could be, in part, an
artefact of a flaky memory for the inconvenient.
