A meaningless metric. If you are a stockholder or employee of IBM or Oracle the only thing that matters is net profits. If you are a developer, DBA, architect, sysadmin, or project manager the only thing that matters is can you pay your mortgage and put your kids through college. Everything else is marketing hyperbole or religious fervor. A category in which, alas, you seem to wallow. -- Daniel A.
