4GL program goes slow

hi guys, Recently i have upgraded my INFORMIX 4GL RDS and 4GL ID from 5.X to 7.X (plus OnLine 5.X to 7.3). i compiled 4gl programs later the day and tested the loading program ( which has a select statement with not so complex where conditions and summation, and insert statement at the end). Surprisingly the program took 1.5 days to complete where as it took 2 hours when running the same program on the older version (5.X). Somebody please clarity me on this. i dont see any of the buffer contention when the thing is running and fyi, the engine sits on a single CPU machine. thanks in advance

When we upgraded Informix (from 5.05 to 5.10 SE) , adding more memory definitely improved things on the box. Although this depends on what sort of hardware/OS you got .
