The IBM support center confirmed a bug in AIX 3.2.5 when moving a logical volume. It just happened to change all the permissions on ALL my informix devices for ALL instances so Informix could not read or write them. I'd back it up, delete the old volume, recreate it, and then restore it. But, I'm smarter now. Gary (mitch@lexmark.com)
