You can find info in the Informix FAQ, in the software archive, and in the history files of the comp.databases.informix newsgroup. There are some challenges to running unattended backups, so be sure to test your system well before relying on it in a production environment. (Such as the tape filling up or going bad, error files filling up, changing permissions and the like.)
