Well there's a really good way of picking your database vendors. Pick the one who is most polite!! What a joke. How exactly are the polite and unassuming RDBMS vendors going to attract huge sales to generate good revenue to pay good programmers to build fabulous products to sell to people to administer more complicated systems etc. etc. etc. Maybe this is Informix's problem.
