Point in time recovery using logical log tapes

I have a question on point in time recovery. I backup the databases using
ontape. I have a situation in which I need to restore the logical logs only
till a certain point. i.e. if a logical log tape contains logs 5 - 15, and I
need to restore only till log # 9. This is what happens. I restore the full
backup using ontape -r, at which it asks me if I need to restore logical log
tapes. When prompted for the logical log tape, I insert the tape and press
enter. It does NOt ask me for log numbers. I check the online log and it
shows that it has restored the first of the logs, after which it prompts me
for another log tape. Since all the rest of the logs are in the same tape, I
just press enter at the prompt. Nothing happens. My question is, is this the
correct way to restore the logical log to a particular point in time ? Do I
have to go through ontape -l for every log? Right now, the system is back in
online mode with only one log restored, since I got tired of waiting. I also
was unable to do an ontape -l ( what state should the engine be in ? )
Thanks for your answers.

Before you buy.
As far as i know, ontape does not support Point In Time(PIT) recovery. onbar
support PIT recovery.
Wish this helps you.

Oops ! OnTape doesn't support point-in-time restore. OnBar only.

In point-in-time you can only replay logical logs till the specified time.
No log numbers.

Yes, of course. This is how ontape works. You can only bypass replaying ALL
logical logs and restore the system to the level 0 backup only. Or, if your
logs are on the different tapes (for example, 1-5 on tape #1 and 6-10 on the
tape #2, you can replay logs 1-5, then ontape asks if you have more logs,
you can say "no").
