Hey, enough Ford bashing (I own two). Let's get back to Oracle bashing. -----Original Message----- From: James Ferrill [mailto:jferrill@courtspecialists.com] Sent: Friday, August 04, 2000 9:21 AM Posted To: informix Conversation: Problem with C-ISAM support Subject: Re: SUVs - was Problem with C-ISAM Support <on soapbox> Sorry about the off-topic post, but Ford pushes my buttons on this one. People tell me actual mileage runs between 6-10 mpg. When I first saw the Excursion, I just shook my head. It's like Ford was saying to themselves, "We want to make money by depleting Earth's resources as fast as we can. We already don't have to meet any strict environmental standards like cars do. What can we at Ford do to make this happen?" They did a great job :-( <getting off soapbox> James Ferrill

We watched them try and get switched over to those apps at my last employer on an 8-way DG AV/20000 box with 8GB memory and an entire rack of Clariion arrays for storage. After that ground to a halt, they ended up with a Sun E10K with 24 processors to meet just the minimal performance standards. I bet Art could have had that AV hummin' on Informix :-) James Ferrill

Love them E10000's though! Art S. Kagel
