Table locking problem.

Hello! I have a table with a single serial8 column.Lock mode is row. When several threads try simultaneously insert values in the table, the exception raises. Is there any way to get rid of it. There is another post from this same day which says: don't use 7.31.UD1 if your application uses serial numbers. Can u respond? If you don't have that version (and I don't know what the problem is) then it must be a problem with the Java interface or your setup, because I can tell you, inserting multiple rows into a table is VERY acceptable. I don't know anything about Java and database connectivity, so can't help you further.
