servername nettype hostname servicename servername - can be any relevant name nettype - defines the server type, interface, and protocol being used. This depends on what engine you are using (SE or IDS) and other factors, but typically would be olsoctcp (for IDS) or sesoctcp (for SE) if you're using sockets and TCP/IP. hostname - the hostname of your database server servicename - again can be anything, but needs to have a matching entry in /etc/services. <RobinsonJ@or-arng.ngb.army.mil> wrote in message news:8fsabv$t2a$1@news.xmission.com... > > Can someone please tell me how the sqlhosts file is layed out?
