Unless you need >2GB size shared memory segments, I'd stick
with 32-bit for now. The biggest problem is that most of our tools
(onperf, oncockpit, ipload, among others) are still 32-bit and are
either not included in the 64-bit distribution, or are not supported. I
haven't spent any time researching it, but apparently onbar isn't
supported on some of our 64-bit ports either.
If you have no use for the "supporting" tools, then you'll probably be
fine with an .FCx release.
Side note--there is still a 2GB chunk size limit (for systems with a
2KB page size). If you read anything to the contrary, it is wrong.
