Assuming that we will run Informix on an Intel box, what Unix OS should we go with? Thanks
We run SCO with great success. -- --- Steven L Cooper Manager, Systems Engineering --------------------------------------- Please reply to NG only, so others may be enlightened... Informix runs well on all of the Intel UNIXs, Solaris, SCO OpenServer, SCO Unixware, Linux, and some others. The choice should therefore be made based on other software, facilities, and hardware support issues. I personally like Linux and find it stable, but if only Unixware supports that Wixbam HyperWave Interdimensional networking card your business needs, and you do not have the time or expertise to write your own drivers, you will not be disappointed with Unixware. All of these sound really good. However, we have experienced superb performance and stability running Solaris 2.6 x86 on Intel hardware with quad pentium pro's. Just curious whether it's true or not. SY, Alex -- When a thing is done, it's done. Don't look back.
