Re: Best platform for Informix?

From: brian@asl.ca > >As EMC/Data General support for Informix falls behind bit by bit, what >is the BEST platform on which to run the Informix Foundation >2000 Database goodies? It looks like we're gonna need to switch OS and >hardware, so we might as well move the one that is the "most supported" >(and one would hope optimized <grin>) Everyone's going to say Sun, I guess, and I would say so too if it hadn't been for the amazing series of dodgy hardware we saw at the last site I was on. I'm now on an HP site, enjoying the "pleasures" of HP's compilers and memory management architecture (although the kit is less flaky). I have fond memories of IBM kit. I'm guessing Sun would be the best, but make sure you have your salesman's testicles firmly in your hand when they deliver the servers. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
