Help! blobs in IDS10.0 fail

I am using IDS 10.0 on the server and a 2.90.TC3 client. I have a VB 6.0 application that uses ado to read/write blobs to the database. This works fine, in development. However the client has an identical configuration and at their site it fails, but only for blobs. All other data works fine. The message that comes through the ado interface is "method ~ of object ~ failed." Not really helpful. I'm focusing on a db configuration setting as the possible difference, but truthfully I really don't know a great deal about Informix configuration. I'm in the market for suggestions on how to determine differences between my informix configuration and the client's that might be relevant to blob storage. Thanks for any assistance!
