Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Francisco Huezo wanted a friendlier Windows dialog to let users change their Unix password instead of using a telnet session and passwd. Bob suggested Microsoft's Unix tools or Samba, Chris Swenson pointed to CGI scripts for browser-based changes, and Paul Watson suggested tweaking the passwd source code. No solution was confirmed.

Hi list.
My problem is that I want to change the password of user's account on Unix from
window.
Of course, I can do it openning a telnet session and running passwd, but I want
to make a window where I can ask to user for his old and new password,
somewhat will be frendlier than simple telnet session.
I'm going to appreciate a lot whatever advice.

Depending on your O/S and how brave you are, m$ released tools for
unix to do this from m$ platforms, alternately, you might want
to look into samba, which I think had something to do that.

There are also many CGI scripts sitting out there on the web to handle this so you
can do this via a browser.
