If you mean that your table has the maximum number of pages (16MM) then there may be problems if the dbspace is larger than 16MM pages and you are using a version prior to 5.07. Versions before 5.07 would erroneously allocate pages beyond the 16MM but the physical page address calculation would wrap causing the first pages of the dbspace to be overwritten. If this happens there is no way to recover (actually tech support wrote a program to repair the damage and after testing it for four hours declared that it would be finished in a few weeks)! If you mean that you have reached the maximum number of chunks that you can add to the server (56 if chunk pathnames are 7 characters or less 64 if 3 characters or less), no. This will not corrupt your instance you just cannot grow anymore. If you really do mean the maximum number of extents a table can have; then also no problem and you can compress the table to reduce the number of extents several ways so that the table can continue to grow. At least until you hit one of the other limits. Art S. Kagel
