Hi, I need a good CASE Tool to create ER Diagrams for an Informix Back-end. I know that ERwin by Computer Associates supports Informix, but I was wondering if there are any other Informix CASE Tools or if Informix has its own data modeling tool. I was also wondering if there are any Informix CASE Tools that work on a MAC platform. Regards, Paul
I used a great, but expensive, tool a couple of years back called System Agent. Currently using Visio2000 Enterprise (I know it's Bill's but, of course, he didn't design it) to model and then create an IDS 7.30 database. Any changes from then can be updated in the Visio model. As long as you add the appropriate ODBC data source for IDS (or any database) it's fine ! hello paul, Maybe our database design tool "dezign for databases" is something for you. You can download an evaluation version (1.4mb) at www.heraut.demon.nl "DeZign for databases" is an easy-to-use; repository-based data modeling tool that help you design databases for desktop and client/server applications. "DeZign for databases" uses entity relationship diagrams (ERDs) to graphically design databases. In your diagram you can visually make a design using entities, relationships and text blocks. regards rick van dijk heraut solutions Paul Druker schreef: > > Hi, > > I need a good CASE Tool to create ER Diagrams for an Informix Back-end.
