IDS 7.31 requires Perl connectivity

We are running IDS 7.31.UC5 on IBM AIX 4.3.4 which we are migrating legacy perl scripts which connected to an Informix SE database. Basically, we can't get the perl scripts connected to any database in OnLine - we're obviously not doing something right or setting the correct environment variables... Do we have to install another set of Perl Libraries specifically for OnLine ?? Any suggestions or pointers are, as ever, greatly appreciated. Cheers S. What version of Perl are those legacy scripts written in? What are they using to connect to the database? I can't speak authoritatively about the old (Perl 4) isqlperl stuff, but anything using DBD::Informix (and DBI) should work against OnLine as well as SE, provided you organize the connectivity correctly. What version of ESQL/C was the old stuff written for? Which version of SE? How long ago? There are no Perl libraries supplied with OnLine. You should check out DBD::Informix and DBI (see my sig). Possible items to check: INFORMIXSERVER INFORMIXDIR LD_LIBRARY_PATH SQLEXEC = ${INFORMIXDIR_IDS73x}/lib/sqlrm What errors are you getting? How many more question can I think of in random order? :-) -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
