syssyntable broken up!
Posted in 2000
We have a problem with ad IDS 2000 9.21.UC2 running on HP-UX 10.20
(PA-RISC,32bits).
The syssyntable is broken up and some synonym is actually not droppable nor
accessible.
We tried "oncheck -cc" but the program gave us about 10 message like the
following:
Validating syssyntable for database veggia
ERROR: No table found for syssynonyms record.
ISAM error: no record found.
Tabid 610327
Server name
Database name
Owner
Table name
Tabid of base table 0
I think this table is not critical for the engine to run (One can have no
synonyms at all!); I succeeded in unloading all the table content so I could
drop and create back that table, eventually dropping alla synonyms or
deleting from systables all rows with tabtype set to "P" (we have only
private synonyms).
...but the engine does not permit to drop or rename syssynonyms stating an
error #-510 even if I am the informix user.
I know the obvious thing to do is create a new database and then put all
data from the old to the new one, but this is a very time consuming solution
for an apparently so little problem...
Any Hint ?
Thanks
