Freeing up sbspace

IDS 11.5 FC5 Linux x86 I deleted a table that stored images in an sbspace that should have freed up approximately 1/2 of the space. It didn't seem to free up any space. Is there something special that needs to be done to free up the space for re-use? I had to add another chunk to the space, and it is being used up, but it doesn't appear that dropping the old table did any good.. Any insight is appreciated. I believe you have to archive your TX logs for the engine to mark that space freed. Not an expert on sbspaces.
