Commonly on Unix systems we : expect ^H, but I bet you're sending out ^?, which is often defined as : interrupt (stty intr). I would advise seeing if you can change the signal the : key is sending out (via SETUP on you terminal or via whatever terminal : emulation software you're running). You can try stty erase ^? if you want, but : you might run into more frustration. Try holding the shift key while you backspace. Some terminal emulators use the shifted backspace as the del key. If this is the case, the terminal setup (or terminal emulation setup) will allow you to reverse the key so that if shift backspace gives you backspace and backspace gives you delete. You can "un-reverse" (is there such a word?) the keys by going back into setup. Look fior a setting with a lable like: Backspaces sends: (Backspace/Delete) -- gburnore@garys.arasmith.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- How you look depends on where you go. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | '۳''''''۳''''''''''''' Gary L.
