I went out yesterday and picked up an SQL book at Borders Book Store. There was one (which I did not buy) that had all sorts of sql database trials that you can install to practice at home. The book mentioned above cost $20 more than the book I actually thought was better for me personally, and since I have complete access to informix at work and can dial in to practice at home, I really didn't "need" the trial-ware that came on the cd. However... It would be neat I guess to have the informix trial version on my home pc (Windows98). Does anyone know of an FTP or WWW site that has this trail version as a free download? Even if it needs *nix to run is ok, since i'll be setting up a linux box this summer. Thank you for any info. Tony

Not to sound like a commercial but I was looking to buy this the other day, Informix Internet Foundation.2000 Informix Internet Foundation.2000 combines powerful transaction processing with Internet data management, enabling organizations to transform their business data into Internet content for Web-based applications and services. The extensible features built inside of Informix Internet Foundation.2000 will support video, voice, image, text'virtually any data can be integrated into the core of Informix Internet Foundation.2000's database server. Special Offer: single user licenses of Foundation.2000 on Linux are only $199! One CPU on Linux is only $2000, and the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are only $10,000 each! This is Informix 9.2, I believe you can call them up and get a license for version 7.31 for much cheaper, as well as the tools runtime libraries, and ESQL. There used to be a free program, and you can call them for a "try and buy" 30 days to decide.
