Informix with Centura Builder

Hello everybody. I'm running IDS 7.30 UC8 on IBM AIX 4.3.2.0 Some of the applicatives using Informix are built with Centura Builder. All tables used by these applicatives must have the fields with datatype date defined as datetime year to fraction(5). If I modify the datatype to date, the application fails. I talked to the developer's and they told me that this occurs because Centura does not have date variables, only datetime, and even these variables are formatted in another way than Informix datetime, but when the request is submitted to the server, it internally receives a datetime function, wich formats it in the correct way. My question is: Does anybody ever had this situation ?? Could I find a way to use the table fields in their correct form (date), instead of having to keep all defined as datetime year to fraction(5), even if I do not need all this information ???
