Much has been requested. Much more must already be available from previous wish lists. Why don't we resurrect the IIUG surveys to determine which features are wanted by most of the users, not just the vociferous ones. I would suggest a slight modification to the methods used before. One the list has been compiled IBM should decide what the various features will cost. Thuis will then be factoted into a survey whereby the users are given 100 resources to play with and they must allocate the recources to the various features, bearing in the mind the resource cost for each one. Then we could be more sure that priority is going to the right features. So Madison, Serge or Jonathan; Are you going to compile a list of the great ideas and publish said back to this newsgroup list. Fantasy would be to have someone identify what will be in IDS v9.5 or v9.6. Certainly you could do that and scare the heck out of Orrible and sqealserver types (maybe even inspire the db2 group you work with to aim higher). Maybe it's a dream but that information makes a lot more sense to promote to the IIUG than white paper rhetoric. IMHO. Rob Vorbroker ===== Rob Vorbroker Phone: 513/336-8695 Vorbroker Consulting, Inc. Only in an ideal world can you shift resources across areas quickly and without loss. Further more telling the competition which resources are available and what the cost of features is seems like a really bad idea, especially in the software business where the competition wants you simply dead. Surveys as you request are being done, but the needed granularity where you tell a customer: "Well, I can give you this or that, but not both" gets reached only under lock and seal.
