FW: Server Initialization on IDS 7.30

Hi Madison, There is no ER involved. But your question led me to a solution to the problem. There was in fact another "ghost" server involved, inasmuch as my onconfig file for the server contained information in the DBSERVERALIASES and NETTYPE variables about the networking name of the same server I was trying to initialize. When I removed these references, "oninit -i" worked fine. But isn't it still strange that "onmonitor" worked ok on the same onconfig file that "oninit -i" choked on, and that the log for "oninit -i" reported the server online when it actually seemed to be quiescent?
