I <don't> get my news from a list-server, and use a news browsing tool like Netscape's News. This allows me to subscribe in a modern-technology-kind-of-way. Using a list server would really clobber my email, as I'm sure it does for those that use it. I can't imagine getting all these posts in email! Whoever had all those other categories really got carried away... It would really make it easier to go through. The argument that some posts would end up in the wrong places is probably valid, as well as cross- dressers--er I mean posters, but after a point people CAN learn something. I don't post my informix stuff to alt.binaries.pictures.erotica, so I think a certain amount of learning can be tolerated. This group is more tolerant of late. > I wonder how the "informix-list" (Walt's mailing list) would cope with this > though?
