IDS 7.31 on NT with Sequel Server Need to know if IDS on NT can be installed on a system currently running Sequel Server? Will the IDS updating the Registry & DLL files overwrite the existing registry & DLL files, causing the existing Sequel Server to crash (and burn)? Can the two pieces co-exist happily ever after?
We have two servers running IDS 7.30 and SQL Server 7.0 (previously, it was 6.5) happily co-existing on NT 4.0. They started with NT service pack 4 and we are currently at service pack 6 with no problems. I do not expect IDS 7.31 to be any different as far as co-existing with SQL Server. We plan to move to 9.2 soon and never took the time to upgrade to 7.31. It has been a couple of years now but I am 98% certain we originally had SQL Server 6.5 on these servers. Then came along IDS 7.30. Then came along SQL Server 7.0 upgrade. All went smoothly. Hopefully your experience will be similar.
