If the user wants to see the output on } the screen, the variable would be 24 or whatever the number of lines } available to be seen, but if he wants it hard copy then the value should } be 66. } } It works fine if I hard code these values, or if I duplicate the report, } but who wants duplication of code. I've tried putting the name of a } variable after the "PAGE LENGTH" but it dies a horrible death during } Phase 1 of the compile, with Informix's meaningful and helpful -4373 } error (The construct is not understandable in it's context).
