Re: jdbc+informix se/linux

I am currently having the same problem (using 7.30 UC10). From what I gather, it is due to the fact that Informix doesn't work well (read: at all) with Linux systems using MD5 encryption. I tried to remove md5 from the passwd file in /etc/pam.d directory. This did not, however, make a difference. Unfortunately this is where my knowledgebarrier lies and I don't have the time to learn this right now. Maybe someone else knows how to get it to work. When asking IF Informix were going to fix this - Informix gave me a clear "NO" in reply. If you have a support contract with them, I hope that you'll kick their butt a bit. Maybe they'll change their mind. I dont like the idea of having to make Linux insecure to intrusion to be able to use the Informix database. /m saadna@bcm.opt.mr wrote: > > Hi everybody > > Any attempt to access the informix database engine from a client > application that use jdbc api fails with the following message : > > "use password not correct for the informix server" > > what does it mean ,the password we have to submit should it be > different from my linux password? > > please help > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ > Before you buy.
