Hi! Version 11.70.FC8. I am trying to cast a CLOB to a LVARCHAR. The engine allows the cast but the result is strange. I have a column in a table that displays as "0005" (using Server Studio for retrivial) when it is a CLOB, when I cast it to a LVARCHAR it displays as "01000000d9c8b7a60a0000000a00000064040000814af7540000000001000000000000000000000 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000" My need is to be able to use a condition on a CLOB directly in SQL, does anybody has any ideas? Regards Ulf
Select the length of the clob.=20
Select hex of the clob
Use oncheck to dump the page
