Could you consider keeping rowids by using the "add rowids" clause? From TOOLEREL docs: However, the 7.X INFORMIX-OnLine Dynamic Server provides a method for making fragmented tables which are usable with ISQL, using the WITH ROWIDS option. If the user or DBA creates all affected tables using the CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE statement with the ADD ROWIDS option, the server will add an artificial ROWID column to that table. The addition of this column will allow ISQL to work with fragmented tables.
