We are considering using some method of data replication/failover. Some of the options we have considered are Informix Enterprise Replication, Informix Data Replication, Legato, and Veritas. I would like to hear from users with experience on any of those methods regarding the ease of installation, reliability or stability at time of failover, the ease of bringing the failed system back on line, and your feeling of confidence in the method. We are on Informix 7.30.UC3, Solaris 7. Thanks! Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
For Enterprise Replication, I would really encourage a later release. We did some signifiant improvements with 7.31. So 7.31UC6 would be the recommended minimum level. ajhowell@my-deja.com wrote: > We are considering using some method of data replication/failover. Oh yes --- For what you are describing, I would think that HDR (High avaibality Data Replicaion) would be the desired Informix solution. Your main goal seems to be to provide a easy-to-use, high availability solution. ajhowell@my-deja.com wrote: > We are considering using some method of data replication/failover.
