Need help connecting to NT from UNIX
Posted in 1998
Hi, I am not sure how to make an UNIX host a trusted host on NT. Here are my questions. I would appreciate if you can provide any information. 1) How do I make my UNIX machine a trusted host on an NT 4.0 server? I have created a Hosts file in winnt\\system32\\drivers\\etc directory with the entry cougar where "cougar" is the name of the UNIX machine. This does not seem to work. I have provided the configuration information and error message below. 2) What are users/passwords on the Informix database on NT? Does Informix use the OS accounts as database accounts? If that is the case will this work when a user connects from an UNIX network to an Informix database running on an NT network? Here is the configuration in more detail: I am running Informix OnLine Server 7.23 on an NT 4.0 Server. I am running an ESQL/C demo program on a Sun workstation running Solaris 2.5.x. The demo program is part of the Informix Client SDK 2.01. It is getdiag.ec When I run the program, I get the following message: >>>>>>>>>>>> GETDIAG Sample ESQL Program running. ********Error encountered in CONNECT stmt******** ---------------------------------------------------------- SQLSTATE: IX000 SQLCODE: -956 EXCEPTIONS: Number=2 More?
